Is diving with bull sharks safe?
Bull shark diving in Playa del Carmen is managed with strict protocols. While these are wild animals in their natural environment, you will receive a detailed briefing about safety, behavior and positioning while our experienced guides maintain clear spacing between divers and sharks to ensure maximum control. Moreover, we do not allow any behavior that can disturb the animals in any way – our observation dives are done in the most respectful way to the sharks and the environment.
What are the minimum requirements for the bull shark dive?
You must be at least Open Water certified (or equivalent) and have at least 20 logged dives. If you have fewer than 20 logged dives, a check out dive with us is required to determine your abilities and readiness for the shark dive. This follows the local best-practices guideline for bull shark diving.
